All Movie Ideas Have Been Done to Death

“All movie ideas have been done to death. Please, go hone and play some cards.”

  • To be done to death (informal idiom): if a particular style or subject is done to death, it is used or discussed so many times that it is not interesting any more

This comic strip is making fun of the fact that all movies look the same — that it’s just the same ideas that are used again and again and that they are not worth watching. What is particularly funny here is that it’s the manager of the cinema who announces it and doesn’t let clients in.
